The Ancient Capital

Nanjing offers many historical sights to visit, highlighting the city’s glorious past, but there are many cosmopolitan attractions as well. Within the downtown area, there are hundreds (if not thousands) of restaurants and shops to experience. In addition, there are several museums to visit. As the center is compact, it’s very easy to explore on foot, making Nanjing a great place to live.

All modern amenities are easily accessible and the cost of living is very low. There is a great expat community with many social events, so there’s plenty to see and do! Day and night, markets and street food abound on every corner, adding to the hustle and bustle of this wonderful metropolis.

Why Nanjing?

Scenic areas like Xuan Wu Lake and Purple Mountain allow you to escape the concrete without leaving the city. Both attractions are quite large, giving visitors the feeling as if they are miles away

A long history: You can visit the ancient city wall, Confucius Temple, the Ming tombs, Dr Sun-Yat-Sen’s mausoleum or the Nanjing Memorial Hall for more modern history

Interesting local dishes include Nanjing duck, spring onion pancake and tangbao, a large type of soup dumpling

Nanjing’s nightlife has lots to offer, including lots of western-style restaurants, pubs, bars and clubs
