Paradise on Earth

Suzhou was part of the Silk Road and is still famous for its silk market and wedding gowns. The beautiful old city, ancient parks and even the new and well-crafted developments are often the choice of background scenery for couples getting married.

The feeling of open space and cleanliness is one of the first impressions, with waterways and lakes dominating the civil landscape, keeping the air relatively clean. You can shop locally in the bustling old town, or live it up in Times Square or at one of the many upmarket and western-themed shopping malls.

Why Suzhou?

Suzhou’s social scene has something for everyone, and, with many international companies based here, there are many opportunities and places for expats to mix and make new friends

Tai Hu Lake and the general low-lying landscape make for great nature walks or cycle rides, and there are several mountains dotted around to provide lovely scenic views

If you want a slow pace, you can find it; if you want to rock the night away to a thriving music scene, you can find that too. Suzhou truly is a wonderful city to visit during breaks

A stone’s throw from Shanghai, taking only 25 minutes by bullet train. There are also fast trains to Beijing and easy access to flying throughout China

Originally founded in 514 BC, Suzhou has over 2,500 years of rich history and relics of the past are abundant to this day
