Once you’ve applied, a recruitment specialist will be in touch with you via phone, or email to set up your interview – so I hope you’ve checked your voice mails and even your email’s spam box in the last couple of days. While waiting in anticipation for your interview to take place, don’t let the nerves get the best of you, spend your spare time searching the web, reading the job specs again, familiarize yourself with the company or the TEFL Course. You could even use different social platforms to learn more about China and look into which cities you could see yourself living. This article will give you some fantastic tips, straight from the EF recruitment team themselves on what they specifically look for in a candidate and what will help you ace your interview with EF.
Do your research
First things first, do your research. Familiarize yourself with the company, the EF ways, who we are and what we do. Watch our social channels. And visit our website, there is plenty of content online to answer all your initial questions on how our program works.
Our recruiters love an excited and genuinely interested candidate. Being in the classroom takes confidence and energy – especially with our younger students. Show your recruiter you have what it takes to be a great EF teacher.
We’re all human, we understand unexpected things may pop up. In these cases, communicate in advance with your recruiter, letting them know you’d like to re-schedule. They’d be happy to accommodate. On the same communication note, why don’t you send your recruiter a message, alongside a task they may have you do, thanking them for their time, this small gesture goes a long way.
Ask all the questions
After doing your research, you may still have a few questions. Be sure to write them down and save them up for the questions section of the interview. Recruiters are always excited to answer your questions and share their experiences as EF teachers with you. Ask the questions so you have the full picture of what the position looks like and what it requires.

As much as your recruiter wants to learn more about you, they are more interested in your professional experiences in the workplace and at University. Ensuring you are professionally dressed and in a quiet location with no distractions is important. Yes, this means please don’t interview in your car, or in your active wear from your morning run.
