TEFL courses
There is nothing worse than starting a new job and realising on your very first day that you don't even know where to begin!
At EF English First we require all of our teachers to have completed a recognised TEFL course. We know that there will be enough for you to get used to without having to go into your first class never having learnt the first thing about teaching real students.
EF English First offers subsidies on a range of TEFL courses from the EF Certificate in TEFL to Trinity Cert TESOL and Cambridge CELTA. These and other TEFL courses in our subsidised programme all include as a minimum:
- 120 hours of real face to face course sessions
- 6 hours of observed practice teaching real non-native speaking students
As a rule these TEFL courses are usually between 4 and 5 weeks long, and on a full time basis, although several of our locations offer part time study as an option.
A quality TEFL course will be intensive and very hard work, but you will leave it with a sense of achievement and the confidence to walk into a staff room and at least know where to start!
Global organisations like EF English First often have good opportunities for career development for qualified teaching staff. |
