Can I choose the overseas destination I will go to?
Yes! When you apply for English teaching jobs online, specify your destination country in the order of your preference. If you are open to teaching in several countries, be sure to let us know in the additional comments field so we can pass your application along to the appropriate recruitment team.

Can I choose the school and city I want to teach in?
It depends where there are vacant teaching positions for your specific skill set. You can speak with your recruitment manager about your preferences and we can discuss what is possible.
How will I find out about the interview?
If you have been short listed for an interview we will contact you either by phone or email to set up a time. We will also give you information about the interview and how you can prepare.
Do I need to fly overseas for the interview?
No. You don't have to fly overseas as most interviews for TEFL Jobs are done by phone. Applicants who are in Shanghai may be invited to a face to face interview.
How long will the application process take?
The whole recruitment process for the teaching English overseas job - from application to placement - usually takes around 2 to 3 months. Sometimes it can be quicker and sometimes it can be longer depending on a variety of factors such as teaching position start date, your current set of qualifications, the visa process... What kinds of teaching qualifications do you accept?
There is a wide variety of teaching certificates available. For certain regions, industry standard TEFL certificates such as a Cambridge CELTA or Trinity certificate TESOL may be required to meet locally set visa requirements.
I don't have a degree. Am I eligible for a job teaching English overseas?
Generally, a degree is required to obtain a full working visa. As the visa process changes regularly, you may still apply as we look at each application on a case by case basis giving preference to candidates who meet other criteria.
How long is the teaching contract? Can I come for 6 months?
Contracts for teaching English overseas with EF are for one year and we prefer to have applicants who are ready to commit for the full term. Gap year jobs are available
