Teaching English in Russia
Students
Our learners range from absolute beginners to advanced, age 5 upwards which means your work teaching English in Russia may involve contact with children, teenagers, and adults. Adults may study on a General English programme, which includes an online component, Business English or preparation for TOEFL, Cambridge or International Exams.
Learner needs
English is part of the national curriculum in Russian schools. Students tend to have a passive knowledge of the language and require development of the productive skills.
Classes
Classrooms are of a standard size and may have a maximum of 14 students. Students are attracted to our relatively small classes, which have a strong communicative element.
Courses
Courses are offered to all age groups with children, teenagers and adults studying general English programmes. Adults may also choose to follow Business English or preparation for an Academic English exam like IELTS.
Extra curricular work
EF Schools have very rich and varied extra curricula activities ranging from barbecues, film nights, football competitions and the most popular of all are our themed Winter and Summer Camps which last from one to two weeks in the countryside outside Moscow. If you're teaching English in Russia with us, you will be expected to take part in these events. Attendance at one of the Camps is obligatory. |
