Teaching English in Indonesia
Students
Teaching English in Indonesia with EF English First involves teaching children, teenagers and adults. As a mature market the location of the schools may give an indication of the mix of students: a higher number of children's classes in residential areas; university students in university towns; and businesspeople in the larger cities.
Learner needs
English is part of the national curriculum in Indonesian schools and many universities require students to conduct research from English texts. Students tend to have a passive knowledge of the language and require development of the productive skills.
Classes
Classrooms are of a standard size and may have a maximum of 14 students. Students are attracted to our relatively small classes, which have a strong communicative element.
Courses
Courses are offered to all age groups with children, teenagers and adults studying general English programmes. Adults may also choose to follow Business English or preparation for an Academic English exam like IELTS.
Extra curricular work
Training Centres hold regular social and marketing activities for the students, which you will be expected to help organize and participate in. |
