Our salary and Benefits Package:
EF English First teachers have a very good lifestyle in China with an employment package that includes a monthly salary paid in local currency and equivalent to that of a local, highly paid Chinese manager.
Flights
EF English First has a standard contract for teaching jobs in China and offers a complete package, which takes the hassle out of moving from Japan. Part of our package includes flights - making sure that at the end of your contract you can return to your hometown. EF English First schools will pay for flights to and from the employment destination for all candidates completing a 12-month contract.
Visas
All EF English First teachers have correct working papers, and relevant ID cards as required. You will be guided through the visa application process by your Director of Studies.
Insurance Highlights
- Specially designed for EF teaching jobs in China
- Round the clock coverage
- Worldwide assistance service
- Low deductibles
- Free Basic Insurance for all EF English First teachers
Working Hours
Contracts are for 40-hours per week, including an average 20 hours of teaching. Hours of work will usually involve working in the morning and in the evening as well as the weekends with two days off (typically Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday). During the summer and winter peak periods teachers receive one day a week off. In peak periods, teachers can be asked to teach up to 26 contact hours.
Support
EF English First's commitment to Teacher Development is highlighted by regular Teacher Workshops. These workshops often focus on a series of skills from Teaching Vocabulary to Developing Learner Autonomy. Materials for workshops are developed by the Director of Studies or taken from our Global Intranet teaching resource. Attendance at such workshops is mandatory. Occasionally, the Academic Operations Manager from the local support office will lead a workshop on their school visit.
